New Directions are seeking a temporary Teacher of Geography on behalf of one our excellent secondary schools in the Wrirral area. Joining a dynamic, friendly and well-resourced Geography department to teach KS3 for two terms.
This role could either be full-time or part-time and, if part-time, would be 0.6 FTE over 3.5 days. The ideal candidate for the post will be well-qualified, with a real love for Geography and an ability to convey it to pupils. The capability to motivate and inspire (both students and teachers) is vital as well as being able to work as part of a strong friendly team and contribute fully to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the School
New Directions Education recruits for vacancies for Geography Teachers who are looking to teach Key Stage 3 (KS3), Key Stage 4 (KS4) and possibly Key Stage 5 (KS5). Experienced teachers as well as newly qualified teachers (NQTs) are welcome to apply.
As a Geography Teacher you’ll be expected to:
Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
