Secondary Learning Support Assistant, Monmouthshire

Job Description

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across a range of secondary schools throughout the Monmouthshire area including Caldicot, Chepstow and Abergavenny. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and want to make a positive impact in education.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and students to provide tailored support within the classroom. You may support individual pupils, small groups, or whole-class activities, helping students to engage with learning and develop confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting students with their learning and classroom participation
• Assisting pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND requirements
• Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting student wellbeing
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff to deliver effective support
• Helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment
• Providing academic and pastoral support where required

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
• A positive, patient, and supportive approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
