New Directions are recruiting for experienced and dedicated secondary teaching assistants to work across a range of secondary schools. As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you’ll be supporting students across KS3 and KS4 in both mainstream and SEND settings. You’ll help to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment, working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils with their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide classroom support across Key Stages 3 and 4, including one-to-one and small group interventions.
Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs (ALN/SEND) in line with their individual plans.
Assist teaching staff in preparing and delivering learning activities.
Promote positive behaviour and inclusion across the classroom and wider school environment.
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
Essential Requirements:
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or working towards), or a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children, with references available.
Experience working with additional learning needs or from a care background, with references available.
Team Teach training is an advantage, or willingness to complete once registered.
Available full time – 5 days a week.
