We are looking for a committed & enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant’s to join the dedicated team in a specialist SEND school based in South Liverpool. This is a full-time position with the opportunity to secure a permanent role for the right candidate.
This is a rewarding opportunity to have a significant impact on the lives of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will provide consistency for the pupils, build positive relationships, and help pupils to engage more confidently & enthusiastically in their learning.
• Support pupils in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour using a calm and consistent approach
• Assist pupils in accessing a personalised curriculum tailored to their individual learning needs
• Encourage and engage pupils with SEMH needs on both a 1:1 basis and within small group settings
• Help maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment
• Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or within a SEND setting
• Is confident managing challenging behaviour in a patient, proactive, and professional manner
• A background in sports coaching, mentoring, or youth work would be advantageous
• Demonstrates resilience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable pupils
Requirements
• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
