New Directions Education is looking to recruit a passionate and supportive SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work within a school in the Monmouthshire area. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone dedicated to helping children with additional learning needs thrive in the classroom and beyond.
Role Overview: As an SEN LSA, you will provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a variety of additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure every child receives the tailored support they need to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils with special educational needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
Assist with the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities.
Promote positive behaviour and help pupils develop confidence and independence.
Provide emotional and social support to pupils both in and out of the classroom.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and parents to meet individual needs.
Contribute to progress reports and pupil reviews where required.
Requirements:
Previous experience supporting children with additional learning needs (school-based preferred).
A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or additional learning needs (desirable but not essential).
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) in Wales.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
