Job Description

A potential full‑time opportunity is available for an experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision in the Leeds area from September. Part‑time arrangements are negotiable, and the role suits someone confident supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including complex learning profiles, communication difficulties and SEMH needs.

The Role

  • Delivering high‑quality, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Creating structured, supportive environments that promote emotional regulation and engagement
  • Leading targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, communication and social development
  • Using adaptive teaching strategies such as visual supports, sensory tools and alternative communication methods
  • Managing behaviour using trauma‑informed, proactive approaches
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams and external professionals
  • Contributing to EHCP reviews, multi‑agency meetings and personalised support plans
  • Tracking progress and maintaining accurate, reflective records

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous SEN experience in a specialist or mainstream setting
  • Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching for diverse and complex needs
  • Resilience, patience and a child‑centred approach
