New Directions Education are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our pool of support staff working across a range of SEN and Resource Provisions in Leeds/Wakefield/Bradford area.
Are you passionate about helping learners with additional needs develop essential life skills? Join our team as a Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
What you’ll do:
Support learners 1:1 and in small groups.
Promote independence, communication, and emotional regulation.
Use strategies like Makaton, PECS, and structured routines.
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families.
What we’re looking for:
Experience with SEN (SLCN/ASC).
Empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.
Team player; willing to learn new approaches.
Team-Teach training (desirable).
