Job Description

New Directions are looking for Teaching Assistants in Cardiff who have experience with working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties across primary and secondary settings. We are looking for those who are compassionate and caring who can adapt learning approaches to individuals. You will be working closely with teachers and other members of staff, so communication skills are vital in this role. You will need confident in working with small groups of children and on a 1:1 basis to assist with any work that has been set. The ideal candidate will have experience working in pupil referral units or have experience with children who have emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The role will allow you to be flexible so that you can be offered a work life balance as well as the opportunity to secure long term roles or day to day cover.

We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of 3 months experience working with children or have a child-based qualification.

You will need:

• A minimum of 3 months child-based experience
• Ideally experience working in pupil referral units
• Contactable references
• A DBS – or be willing to undertake one via New Directions
• A willingness to complete mandatory training when required
