Job Description

New Directions Education are looking to recruit an experienced Key Stage Two Teacher to work with a Year four class in a school near Birkenhead. This is a single class intake Primary School where the staff aim to make sure that every child who joins feels part of our loving and joyful community and that they feel safe and secure in their learning environment.

To be considered for this role you will need to have a proven track record teaching key stage two, experience of year four is not essential but being a strong classroom manager is.

You will be responsible for teaching a Year 4 class including all planning and marking.  You will also be supported by the KS2 leader and take part in weekly KS2 and full staff meetings.

The school is particularly looking for someone who:

• Can create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful and stimulating environment which is conducive to children’s learning

• Can identify clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes, with appropriate challenge and high expectations

• Can organise and manage group or individual pupils ensuring differentiation of learning needs, reflecting all abilities

Job Specification

Your role as a Key Stage 2 (KS2) Primary Teacher in the age group of your speciality will be varied and at times challenging. But we doubt you’ll find a more satisfying career where your main objectives will be to develop the children and prepare them for the next stage.

As a Primary School Key Stage 2 Teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
