We are working with a school for pupils with special needs aged 4-19, located in Chester. The school educates and cares for pupils with complex special educational needs.
The school has been graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted.
New Directions are actively seeking a dedicated SEN trained TA to join our team, to assist us in supporting this school. We are looking to register candidates ready for a September start – whether that be for day to day, full-time and or long-term roles with a view to going permanent for the right candidate.
The school:
Support pupils with a range of severe physical, sensory, medical, and cognitive needs.
Known for its inclusive, nurturing approach and personalised learning pathways.
Facilities include sensory rooms, specialist equipment, and dedicated therapy spaces.
The Role:
Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with complex needs.
Assist with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and mobility support, where required.
Support sensory-based learning and communication using PECS, Makaton, and other specialist strategies.
The Ideal Candidate:
Patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting children with PMLD.
Experience in an SEN, care, or medical setting is welcomed but not essential.
We strongly encourage applications from individuals with backgrounds in care, the NHS, social work, sports coaching, or other sectors with transferable skills.
Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service, if not already done.
Must have employment references within the last 5 years
