New Directions are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with Autism & Complex Needs. This is a full-time, long-term role until the end of the academic year.

The Role:
Full-time 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism (ASC) and Complex Needs. In class support as well as targeted interventions outside of the classroom
Use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools like PECs, Makaton, or communication boards for non-verbal or minimally verbal pupils (desired but not essential)
Support sensory regulation needs, including guiding pupils through sensory circuits, using sensory rooms, or implementing sensory breaks as advised by OT specialists.
The Candidate:
Holding a Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
Experience working with children with additional needs in a classroom setting is preferred; however, we also welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds in care, support work, sports coaching, or psychology.
