New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a secondary SEND school in Speke. This full-time role involves supporting students in KS3 and KS4 who require social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) support. The Role:
• Providing day-to-day support to KS3 and KS4 pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
• Assisting students to access learning by helping manage behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interactions.
• Working closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and pastoral teams to implement individual support plans.
• Promoting a calm, safe, and supportive atmosphere to help pupils develop confidence and resilience.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Experience working with young people with SEMH or SEND is desirable but not essential.
• Able to work flexibly as part of a multidisciplinary team and respond positively to the challenges of supporting SEMH pupils.
• Able to provide employment references from the last 5 years.
• Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS background check.
