New Directions Education are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work within primary schools across Winsford. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs within mainstream education.
The schools we work with have strong inclusive practices and supportive SEND teams, providing excellent opportunities to make a real difference to pupils’ learning and wellbeing.
Due to the nature of these opportunities, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.
• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
• Supporting children with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties
• Assisting pupils to access learning within the classroom
• Supporting EHCP targets and individual learning plans
• Encouraging positive behaviour and independence
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
• Monitoring pupil progress where required
• Experience supporting children with SEND (desirable)
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A good understanding of safeguarding procedures
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
• A full driving licence and access to transport (desirable due to the location of schools)
