Job Purpose
We are currently looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and associated communication needs within a specialist provision in Wylde Green.

This rewarding Teaching Assistant role involves supporting pupils to access learning, regulate emotions, develop social skills, and build independence within a structured and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities – Teaching & Learning Support

  • Provide 1:1 and small group TA support for pupils with ASD and ADHD
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and sensory strategies
  • Implement visual timetables and structured routines
  • Encourage positive social interactions and communication skills
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists
  • Promote engagement, independence, and wellbeing throughout the school day

Person Requirements

  • Experience supporting children or young people with autism and/or ADHD
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Two satisfactory references

No formal qualifications required

Relevant experience required, including:

  • Support work
  • Care work
  • Tutoring
  • Teaching Assistant work
  • SEND school experience
