Job Purpose
We are currently looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and behaviours that challenge within a specialist setting in Lea Hall.

This rewarding Teaching Assistant role involves supporting pupils to access learning, develop communication skills, and regulate emotions within a highly structured environment. Local specialist provisions in the area support pupils with a combination of learning and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities – Teaching & Learning Support

  • Provide 1:1 and small group TA support
  • Implement individual behaviour support plans
  • Support communication using visual strategies
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists
  • Promote pupil engagement, confidence, and independence

Person Requirements

  • Experience supporting autism and/or behaviours that challenge
  • Calm and consistent approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to remain resilient in a fast-paced environment
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Two satisfactory references

Qualifications

No formal qualifications required

Relevant experience required, including:

  • Support work
  • Care work
  • Tutoring
  • Teaching Assistant work
  • SEND school experience
