New Directions Education are currently working with over 80 Primary/ALN schools in the Cardiff borough and are currently recruiting Student Teachers to work for the remainder of the Summer Term.
If you are currently on your final placement of your PGCE and qualifying this July and would like more experience working on supply before starting your NQT journey in September now is the time to get in touch and start the registration process.
Supply work is perfect for Student Teachers during the Summer term as it will give you opportunity to gain more experience in local schools working across different classes on the days you are free. It will also give local schools the opportunity to meet you before you qualify as an NQT which could then lead to long term opportunities in September.
As a Student Teacher you will be expected to :
Teach all areas of the school curriculum
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Maintain discipline
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
