Teaching Assistant – ALN, Powys

Job Description

We are seeking ALN Learning Support Assistants to join our team on a full-time basis for our Primary Schools in the Brecon area. In this role, you will work with pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, providing additional support as needed. This may include assistance with focusing during lessons and access to extra learning resources to help them achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will need to employ innovative learning techniques to engage pupils, including those with socialising difficulties and general additional learning needs. We value proactive individuals who can effectively monitor behavioural needs and provide support to pupils with low self-esteem.

Requirements for this role include:

• A minimum of 3 months of child-based experience or a background in the care sector
• Contactable references
• A valid child and Adult DBS clearance, or a willingness to undergo one through New Directions
• A commitment to completing mandatory training when required

Ideally, we prefer candidates with at least 3 months of experience working with children or relevant qualifications. However, we also consider applicants with transferable skills, such as experience in social care, coaching, or nursing.
