Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Speke, working with KS4 pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and develop the confidence, resilience and skills they need to succeed.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

· Provide 1:1 and small-group support to KS4 pupils.

· Support students with SEND and SEMH needs to access their education.

· Help pupils manage behaviour, emotions and barriers to learning.

· Build positive and trusting relationships with students.

· Support classroom learning and encourage engagement.

· Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff.

· Promote positive behaviour, independence and confidence.

· Help create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.

About you

The ideal candidate will be:

· Caring, patient and resilient.

· Confident supporting young people with challenging behaviour.

· Passionate about working with pupils with SEND/SEMH.

· Able to build strong professional relationships with young people.

· Calm and consistent when managing difficult situations.

· Reliable, professional and able to work effectively within a team.

Previous experience in a school, SEND, SEMH, youth work, care or similar setting is highly desirable.
