We are working with a primary school in Birkenhead seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to two pupils within the school day.
This is a rewarding but demanding role that requires someone confident, proactive and experienced in supporting pupils with additional needs.
The Role:
Morning: 1:1 support with a Year 5 pupil
Afternoon: 1:1 support with a Year 2 pupil
Supporting pupils to remain engaged in lessons and access learning
Implementing strategies to support behaviour and focus
Working closely with teachers and SEN staff to ensure consistent support
Essential Experience:
Previous school-based TA or LSA experience
Experience supporting children with ADHD
Strong behaviour management skills
Confidence managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
Ability to quickly build rapport and trust with pupils
A proactive approach and ability to follow guidance from teaching staff

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
