About the School

  • A friendly, inclusive primary school in Kirkby that provides a nurturing environment for pupils aged 4–11.
  • Supports children with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language difficulties, learning delays, and social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Well-resourced with intervention spaces, sensory areas, and supportive SEND staff who offer guidance and mentoring to trainee TAs.

The Role

  • Work alongside class teachers and SEND staff to provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
  • Assist in delivering differentiated activities and structured interventions.
  • Support pupils’ emotional, social, and academic development throughout the school day.
  • Help promote independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours.
  • Engage in training and on-the-job learning to build key skills in SEND practice.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience from care, youth work, childcare, community work, sports coaching, or similar backgrounds is highly valued.
  • Patient, empathetic, and eager to learn from experienced teaching and support staff.
  • Willing to undertake relevant training, including safeguarding and SEND development.
