New Directions Education is currently recruiting a Trainee Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in South Liverpool, supporting children in EYFS and KS1 with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

About the Role
Support pupils with PMLD in EYFS and KS1 across all areas of learning and development.
Assist with delivering personalised learning activities and implementing individual plans under the guidance of class teachers and SEND staff.
Support communication, sensory needs, physical development, and personal care as required.
Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Work as part of a team to support pupils’ wellbeing and progress.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
A caring, patient, and flexible approach with a genuine interest in supporting children with complex needs.
Willingness to learn and develop skills in communication strategies, sensory support, and personal care.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from teachers and SEND staff.
Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service, if not already done.
Must have employment references covering the last 5 years.
