New Directions Education is currently recruiting a Trainee Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with a non-verbal autistic pupil in Key Stage 1, at a welcoming and supportive primary school in Belle Vale.

About the Role:
Provide 1:1 support for a non-verbal autistic child in KS1, helping them engage with learning and daily routines.
Use simple communication strategies, including visual supports, gestures, and routine-based activities.
Support the pupil’s emotional regulation, independence, and social development within a structured and nurturing environment.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement an individual support plan tailored to the pupil’s needs.
No previous school-based experience is required – full guidance and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidate.
Ideal Candidates Will Be:
From a care, nursing, support work, or similar background where they’ve supported individuals with additional or complex needs.
Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service, if not already completed.
Able to provide employment references covering the last 5 years.
