We currently have an exciting opportunity in a large primary school in the Carmarthen area. As a teaching assistant you will be required to work full time hours with groups of children throughout the key stage 2 (KS2) classes. The purpose of this post is to help pupils with their literacy and numeracy as well as any other areas identified by the school. You will need to be a fluent Welsh speaker with a good level of written Welsh. Full training will be provided and you will have the support of the class teachers. You will need to have experience working in a school environment, knowledge of the KS2 curriculum would be an advantage.
The start date is 12th April 2021 for the full summer term. There is onsite parking at the school and it is also accessible via public transport.
Be registered with the Education Workforce Council
Hold a DBS which is registered on the Update Service (or be prepared to have a new DBS processed)
Be a fluent Welsh speaker

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
