New Directions Education is looking to register a qualified Primary Teacher who has specialised in working within a Year 5/6 Class for a primary school in Neath Port Talbot area. The position is to start after half term and will be up to Easter in the first instance with the strong possibility of continuing after that. The school is seeking applicants who have experience of teaching mixed age groups.

Have gained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are registered with Education Workforce Council (EWC);
Have specialised in teaching within Key Stage 2. Differentiation skills are essential;
Have an awareness or previous experience of using Restorative Practice;
Are able to promote the ‘Cwricwlwm Cymraeg’ throughout the school and use incidental Welsh when appropriate;
Can confidently plan and delegate a daily routine for support staff within the classroom;
Are willing to support and develop after school and lunchtime clubs;
Seek a long term position teaching a full timetable with the relevant time set aside for Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA).

Your role as a Key Stage 2 (KS2) Primary Teacher in the age group of your speciality will be varied and at times challenging. But we doubt you’ll find a more satisfying career where your main objectives will be to develop the children and prepare them for the next stage.
As a Primary School Key Stage 2 Teacher you’ll be expected to:
Teach all areas of the school curriculum
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
