A primary school in the Norris Green area of Liverpool is seeking to appoint a dedicated Year 6 Intervention Teaching Assistant to support pupils in the lead-up to SATs. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to make a real impact on pupil progress in Upper Key Stage 2.
The Role
• Deliver targeted intervention sessions for Year 6 pupils in preparation for SATs
• Work with small groups to support and raise attainment in English and Maths
• Identify and help address gaps in learning, reinforcing key skills and concepts
• Provide in-class support where required, working alongside the class teacher
• Track pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Support pupils’ confidence, motivation, and readiness for transition to secondary school
The Ideal Candidate
• Holds a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or above desirable)
• Has experience working within Upper Key Stage 2 (desirable)
• Is confident delivering small group interventions in English and Maths
• Has a good understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs expectations
• Demonstrates a proactive, patient, and supportive approach
• Is committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential
Requirements
• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Relevant safeguarding training (or willingness to complete this)
