It took courage to take myself to the New Directions office in Swansea as I had experienced a very difficult time in education and was considering leaving it all behind. But after a lovely meeting with Anna and with help, support and encouragement from Michelle, I began working in January 2019 and had really lovely placements in effective learning environments. I can say I’m developing more skills and New Directions have been fantastic in supporting my return to work. They are mindful of my family life, while also supporting my working schedule. Michelle has been amazing in guiding me through the supply process. New Directions also offer free courses which are invaluable in supporting continued development, where other agencies don’t. Even as a permanent teacher you would miss out on these courses.
