I signed up with New Directions in June 2014 with my application being processed by Kelly. I found her to be very competent and professional in all aspects of the process. She has continued to be supportive and reliable as I have worked with New Directions over the last few months. Kelly manages to combine her professionalism with a friendly and approachable manner which makes me more than happy to have her as my account manager.

I am writing this testimonial to give my highest possible recommendation for my Account Manager in the Wrexham Branch. I know Rebecca through her work as my account manager for New Directions.
I first met Rebecca at my interview in the Wrexham office in June 2015 where she described the general outline of the work on offer. She made me feel very comfortable within the interview situation with her mature, sensitive nature and her bubbly personality. Her interpersonal skills were excellent and she ran the interview with ease and confidence asking relevant questions and providing information about the company.
Since then Rebecca has continued to support me in several ways. As a teacher who is relatively new to the area I spoke to Rebecca about my concern about not knowing the schools or the Welsh Curriculum. I told her that I lacked the confidence to go straight into the schools as a teacher and asked if it was possible to work as a Teacher Assistant to familiarise myself with both areas of concern. Rebecca listened to my needs and introduced me to a colleague who helped find suitable placements for me.
Rebecca has also been pro-active by ringing me and asking how I am finding things and which role is my preference at the moment. She has been able to support my work in an enthusiastic and empathetic manner demonstrating good knowledge of suitable schools and work which suits my needs.
In summary, Rebecca is an organised, confident manager who understands the needs of her teachers by listening carefully to them and then finding the relevant placements.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working for New Directions over the past couple of years. I’ve had the chance to work as a TA in many different schools in and around the Swansea area – whether for one day at a time, or two week blocks at the same school – which has given me invaluable experience in working with children and in schools. Additionally, it has been a crucial aspect of gaining me a place on the PGCE primary programme at UWTSD Swansea next year; it has undoubtedly helped me decide that teaching is definitely for me.
Kelly is a great account manager – she is always very pleasant to talk to on the phone and understands that because of university commitments, I cannot work very often at the moment – but always keeps me in mind for work regardless. Overall, I would recommend New Directions Education to anyone who is interested in working in a school environment, but needs a more flexible working routine than a fixed job.

I am an NQT and have been working for New Directions for just under a year. After I graduated I needed to gain experience in as many schools as possible. New Directions have helped me get my foot in the door and I’m now requested at my favourite schools. Communication is very frequent between New Directions and myself. They are very friendly and easy to talk to about any issues.
My account manager is always in contact to check everything is ok and to give me more work in my preferred schools. The highlight of working with New Directions is the friendly staff and secondly, is the online portal because I can easily access and change my availability myself with no hassle.
I am very happy to be working with New Directions and would recommend New Directions to other Newly Qualified Teachers for the above reasons and for their high pay rate and holiday pay scheme.

Ashleigh, Supply teacher in Caerleon
Since I moved from back from Canada to Caerleon I have been working for New Directions. Shannon is my point of contact and has been nothing but accommodating since I started in September 2015. She is attentive and frequently phones or messages regarding constant work. She is able to cater to my needs with regards to placing me in schools that I have really enjoyed being in. She also phones ahead of time, which allows me to sort out my mode of transportation for the next day or week.
A highlight of being a teacher for New Directions has been being considered for the Guaranteed Payment scheme, which gives me constant work enabling me to have a great pay check at the end of the week. Secondly, Shannon gives me local work that is in Newport only. I really enjoy working closer to home as I do not have a car and I want to get to know the children and impact my local community. I also like the fact that Shannon goes out of her way to ask if I enjoyed my time in schools and wishes me well.
I recommend teachers in the Newport area sign up with New Directions as the staff are nice and accommodating, and most importantly they provide lots of work for supply teachers.

Laura, Supply teacher in Newport
My name is Laura and I have been working for New Directions as a supply teacher for 2 years. My previous point of contact, Mari, knew me well and would find and accept long term work for me. Shannon is my new point of contact and is also easy to contact and has been very reliable in placing me in work and understanding when my circumstances have changed.
The best thing about working with this company is the respect they have for working relationships. If a school is a good fit they will aim for consistency and try to send you back for more work. This is both great for myself and the pupils.
I suggest that all teachers looking for a school to be frequently placed in should sign up with New Directions.
