I have been working with New Directions for over 5 years, my account manager is Gemma, she is fantastic. I have been working as a Primary teacher for 1-3 years, I have dealt with both Mari and Louise, while Mari was on maternity leave and always found both to be extremely helpful and friendly. I have worked for New Directions for around a year as a Newly Qualified Teacher. I have found them to be very supportive, professional and they have a clear understanding of my requirements. I have had regular, daily, contact with Mari and she was always a friendly voice on the phone if I needed to speak to her. I have been really pleased with the amount of work I was given. My highlight of working with New Direction was getting a full time job after being given supply work for the school.
As an NQT it was very daunting going into supply teaching, but Mari was very supportive and gave me the confidence that I was doing OK. The NQT event was really good too. I would definitely recommend new Directions to other NQTs. Also the administration side was great – website very easy to use and update time sheets. The availability page was very useful to keep track of my diary.

I have been wroking for New Directions since September 2014. The company has been very supportive of me as an NQT, understanding any worries I have had, giving me as much pre-booked work as possible and making sure I stay in my preferred age phase. I have had a good amount of work, and would have been able to have had more if I had been available every day.

My account manager Gemma is lovely. She is always cheerful, easy to talk to and responds when I contact her. She takes note of feedback I give and tries to place me in places I like as well as passing on feedback to me from school which has really boosted my confidence. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to help me through the NQT year.

Would I recommend New Directions? Yes!

New Directions were always very helpful, no matter who I spoke to. If I was unable to contact the person needed, then the operator would always leave a message and they would get back to me as soon as possible. I was regularly contacted by them in terms of work and if I was in a long term supply post, they would ‘check in’
regularly to ensure that everything was going well, and if any future supply openings became available.

New Directions would alway place me in schools for periods of time, usually longer than a few days. Through New Directions, I was able to be placed in a school for several months. When this came to an end, they quickly found further posts for me to fill for set periods of time.

Would recommend New Directions? : Yes

Apart from the very first month of supply (which is to be expected) New Directions always offered work for me and on a regular basis. I very rarely had no work and if I did it would be only for one or two days. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to work on a supply basis, and that they are always so helpful and keep you in mind, ensuring that you have as much work as is possible. I am very grateful for the support that I have had from New Directions and from Mari Lewis, who was my regular point of contact.
