The school recently had a strange situation where we had a number of courses on in school that required a number of supply staff to cover. This was done through Rebecca our account manager at New Directions.

On that morning, I was also informed that a member of staff had gone down with a bug. I phoned New Directions to arrange cover and this was successfully done in no time at all.

Cover for all classes was arranged and I was able to relax whilst on a course knowing that this was the case.

I chose to use New Directions for cover as they provide us with quality teachers. They help with my day to day work as they are efficient and communicate by email and phone. I always request our three favourite staff to cover and our account manager is always happy to accommodate. When we need a strong teacher for a difficult class, our account manager sends us someone who is more experienced and has good behaviour management.

The highlight of working with New Directions is their hospitality on visits, always up for a chat and are very friendly. I’m also very impressed that they have ancillary staff. We have recently found a care taker through New Directions and he is great.

We (Our Lady’s School) first approached New Directions as a result of a “let down” situation by another teaching agency. Our point of contact was James Evans.
We had quite specific requirements, a need to find a suitable long term supply to teacher our year 3/ 4 class. We were looking for an experienced teacher who was able to take on a large class together with the daily responsibilities of managing it. James offered us the opportunity to “try out” a few carefully selected teachers on a weekly basis. He impressed the capability of one young teacher in particular (although we were not that keen on a NQT). He proved himself right! Within the month we had contracted said teacher for a long term position (12 months to be exact).

James, supports our requests for continuity where and when possible and is up to speed with the unique nature of our school and never fails to supply the appropriate level of teacher to suit our needs. On a personal and professional level he is extremely approachable and co-operative. Recently, helping with a football shoot-out to enable our children raise money for CAFOD a charity that provides aid to the less fortunate overseas.

New Directions is now the schools agency of choice.

As Headteacher of Hafren Junior School I have been using the services of your company, New Directions, for the past year. The teachers supplied have been very professional, skilled and friendly. All teachers have arrived in good time, settled in quickly and undertaken any duties requested by myself or the Senior Management Team.

The teachers have taught to a good standard from their own bank of materials or from the class teacher lesson planning. The cost of the service is negotiable and reasonable when viewed against teacher rates on Eteach. Furthermore, New Directions staff have never failed to provide a good supply teacher for cover at my school (irrespective of the timescales I have given for this) and always ask for feedback on their teachers with the view to improving the quality of service – this is an excellent aspect of the New Directions service.
