Since my earliest dealings with New Directions last year when I began my post as Acting Headteacher at Ysgol Llechyfedach, my dedicated account manager has more often than not been dealing with my requests for supply cover. During this time I have built up a rapport with my account manager over the phone and am reassured that she understands and appreciates what the schools requirements and needs are when it comes to effective supply cover.

My account manager is always pleasant, polite and friendly to deal with. She has always made a tireless effort to find someone suitable for cover, sometimes at short notice. She has also worked hard to secure some recent longer term covers at our school, staying on late at times to ensure that the placements were confirmed.

Because of my account managers openness and reliability, my first port of call for supply teachers is always New Directions, and we currently have three members of staff (1 teacher, 2 class assistants) at Llechyfedach until the end of term who have all been found for us by our account manager.

I have been very happy with all the information and guidance from my account manager since joining New Directions in the summer. The Interview process with my account manager was thorough, professional and nothing was to much trouble. When the Wrexham Pool shut I thought I would really struggle for work, but my account manager could not have been more helpful and reassuring. I have also had a few queries when using the portal New Directions provide and my account manager is always there to help. After qualifying as a teacher in July 2014, I registered with three supply teaching agencies who all offered the prospect of supply work within my local area. I received regular work through all three agencies, and a long term assignment with one particular agency for the 2015 summer term. However, although I appreciated the work, I found the service I received from the alternative agencies to be more geared towards their needs than mine. During my time you have been pro-active in finding me work in the Primary Schools in and around Denbighshire and especially the Vale of Clwyd closer to my home, which has been so useful and convenient.

My account manager has demonstrated her knowledge and experience on occasions when explaining the update services for the ‘Disclosures’ , holiday pay and bookings. This has been very clear and helpful.

I have been working for New Directions 3 days a week for the past 3 years. I always find it easy to get hold of my point of contact, Shannon, and communicate with her frequently. She contacts me frequently throughout the week with offers of work and often enquires if everything is going ok.

She is friendly and approachable and explains everything well so that if an issue arises, I feel happy to contact her. She also places me in schools that are local to me which is great!

My highlight of working for New Directions is being able to experience a diverse range of schools and building up a relationship with a class if I work in a school for a few days.

I like being able to use a website which has my own account so I can confirm my timesheets, check pay slips etc. I recommend teachers in South Wales use New Directions for local placements in Newport.
