We have been using New Directions for teachers and teaching assistants for 5+ years. I have an excellent relationship with my account manager Shannon. She is always very friendly, honest and open. Nothing is ever too much and she is always willing and available to help. She calls to check up on the school a couple of times a week. We also enjoy her treats and chats over coffee when she comes to visit. Having dealt with Mari previously to Shannon. I can say that New directions always look after us and do whatever they can to help. Both Ladies are fantastic.

Description of relationship with New Directions point of contact: One of the strengths of New Directions is the very professional but also very personal relationship the company builds with it schools. ND account managers have developed good relationships with my Admin staff and vice versa.
So my colleagues and I know we are more than just an account number and a booking to the company.

Our Account Manager knows our school, my staff and the staff deployed here. She wants the placement to work and cares about the learning of the children in our school.

I feel that my relationship with everyone at New Directions is great. I know I can always call them if I need anything, but I prefer email usually. They always email me back as soon as possible with any inquiries or other needs I may have. They try their best to get me as much work as possible in the areas of teaching I prefer to work in. Highlight of working with New Directions: I have loved working with New Directions more than any other agency because they do get me work as much as they can. Other agencies say they could get me work, but did they ever…no! New Directions understand I can only work in certain areas of Cardiff because I don’t have a car of my own so getting to certain schools would not be possible. So they get me as much work as possible close to where I live which I am grateful for. Also New Directions know that I prefer I to work with a certain age group so they try their best to get me work in that age group. I am lucky that I get as much work as possible working for New Directions. By far they are the best Agency I have worked for in the Cardiff area.

Rebecca always responds to any questions I have very quickly, and keeps in touch on a regular basis to ensure placements are going smoothly. Important information pertaining to the placement is always passed on, and is particularly useful as it enables me to be effectively prepared for the cover work. This means that I can target the specific requirements of the placement so they are mutually beneficial. Rebecca also takes into account journey/travel times for short notice cover work.

During September it was initially quite quiet, however Rebecca always did her best to try and find me bookings, and advised on strategies to implement to ensure I got repeat bookings (which were successful as I returned to certain schools several times).

I put my cv on a jobs website. I was approached by New Directions to come and talk at their Liverpool office. I had worked for 4 years with another agency in the Wigan area til I had an operation which took longer to recover from than I thought it would. As a result I did not work for nearly 2 years. This proved disasterous for getting references as any work I had done was out of date. When I went back to work for this agency they could offer me work in Manchester, Salford, Blackburn, Burnley, Preston which were too far away for me from my home in Wigan. So when New Directions said that they could get me work in the Wigan area I was very grateful. Registration was easy. I went to the Liverpool office and met Laura who was very helpful. Because of the difficulty with my references Compliance were not too happy about taking me on, but Laura intervened and worked out that my feedback from any school I worked in should be well monitored. Thank you Laura for having faith in me and going that extra mile for me.
