New Directions were always very helpful, no matter who I spoke to. If I was unable to contact the person needed, then the operator would always leave a message and they would get back to me as soon as possible. I was regularly contacted by them in terms of work and if I was in a long term supply post, they would ‘check in’
regularly to ensure that everything was going well, and if any future supply openings became available.

New Directions would alway place me in schools for periods of time, usually longer than a few days. Through New Directions, I was able to be placed in a school for several months. When this came to an end, they quickly found further posts for me to fill for set periods of time.

Apart from the very first month of supply (which is to be expected) New Directions always offered work for me and on a regular basis. I very rarely had no work and if I did it would be only for one or two days. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to work on a supply basis, and that they are always so helpful and keep you in mind, ensuring that you have as much work as is possible. I am very grateful for the support that I have had from New Directions and from Mari Lewis, who was my regular point of contact.

My highlight of working with New Directions Education is receiving feedback from my consultant. This does not happened with any other agency I have worked for. I would like to share my experience of working with New Directions; I started working with New Directions Education on the 21/10/2013.  Upon meeting for my initial induction, it became clear that New Directions is a company that prides itself on building relationships with their clients and candidates. My experience as a supply teacher has been a positive one.  I was very pleased when I was asked to work at only one school and have set days for working.  I like the relationship I have with my organiser.  I believe that he appreciates the work I do and respects the years of experience I have in teaching.  He only contacts me when he needs to and is always willing to explain things clearly and frankly.  He is very approachable without being familiar. I have been very fortunate in being able to work at one school and they have been very supportive.  I strongly believe that working in one or two schools regularly benefits all concerned.  The supply learns the schools systems, expectations and ways of discipline. The school can demonstrate their support by assisting in the supply’s development of their role. Supply teaching is a good source of income.
