Pupils in secondary schools across Wales are experiencing a new method in the way sport and physical activity is delivered.
5×60 is a Sport Wales initiative that has been set up in order to achieve the Welsh Assembly’s target of 90% of pupils at secondary schools participating in 60 minutes of physical activity 5 times a week by 2020. Currently, 99% of secondary schools in Wales participate in this initiative and the purpose is to consult with pupils, listen to their needs and discover the barriers that prevent them from participating in the activities.
One school that is fully supporting the 5×60 initiative is Ysgol John Bright school is Llandudno. For the Autumn term the school has set up a number of activities including dance mats, badminton, street dance, dodgeball and trampolining.
