A leading Welsh recruitment and training agency has opened its doors on the West coast of Wales.

New Directions Education, the managed service supplier for staff for Welsh schools and colleges has set up an office in Aberystwyth’s marina area to provide crucial services to the area.

The team held a launch event at the prestigious Nanteos Hotel to announce their arrival to schools and businesses in the region. The event, which was attended by over 30 key local stakeholders, including Deputy Mayor Brendan Summers was a chance for delegates to ask about how New Directions might impact and assist local education providers.

Laura Bosomworth, Branch Manager for the team said of the decision to move to Aberystwyth ‘for a number of years we have serviced Ceredigion and the surrounding areas from our Swansea hub. This has worked to a degree, but the time has come to set down some firm roots and make a commitment to the region. We have employed a local team of Account Managers who have already began to forge great links with the community’.

The branch is the fifth permanent location for New Directions in Wales and the team have high hopes. Speaking about their aspirations for the area John Evans, Account Manager said ‘today we are announcing our arrival in the region with an event at local hotel The Nanteos, where we hope to meet many of the people we will be working with to add to the prosperity of a very special area’.

Matt Lloyd, also Account Manager for the team added ‘it’s great for New Directions to be here in Aberystwyth, we are able to get to really understand the needs of the schools and candidates we will be working with, which will be paramount to our success’.

New Directions was appointed managed service provider for staff to the education sector in Wales by the National Procurement Service (NPS) for a second successive term in 2015. The organisation has saved schools an estimated £4.1 million pounds in recruitment costs since their initial appointment in 2012.

The team was also awarded ‘Supplier of the Year’ at the 2015 Welsh National Procurement awards. Bosomworth adds ‘with over 50 schools in the Ceredigion area to service, we are confident that New Directions can add real value to the community and our presence here will only strengthen the education workforce’.
