Helping Year 11 students prepare for their future

On Wednesday 25th October, New Directions Account Managers Sean Crawford and Anica Whitmore were invited to Brynteg School in Bridgend to help conduct mock interviews for their Year 11 students.

Along with five other companies, New Directions were invited by Hannah Stephens from Careers Wales to help prepare these 15 and 16 year olds for working life. Sean and Anica interviewed 10 students all of which had a range of interests from engineering, law, nursing and a few young entrepreneurs who want to set up their own business.

Anica Whitmore, Account Manager said, “Many of the students were really nervous at the start of the session, however by the end of the day they all said they felt more prepared to be able to apply for jobs and feel more confident when going for job or university interviews.

It was great to be able to help young people who are starting to think about what they want to do following their GCSE’s. Whatever path they decide to take, it’s great that we’ve had the opportunity to help them prepare for their future.”
