New Directions Liverpool is seeking a dedicated Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant for a ‘Good’ rated SEND school located in Litherland top work on a one-to-one basis.
This long-term role, starting immediately, requires a compassionate and skilled individual to support children with Autism (ASD) and Complex Learning Difficulties (CLD). The successful candidate will work closely with students to create a positive, nurturing environment, helping them navigate their unique challenges and reach their full potential. Job Specification
Have experience working with children, or adults, with additional needs
Able to support children of all abilities.
Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning.
Whilst previous experience of working in a SEN environment would be desirable, candidates who possess the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.

Experience of working with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, or other specific learning needs.

A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students with varying needs.
Be able to build strong relationships with students and staff.
Be encouraging and supportive
Ensure the safety and well-being of the students
Support students with a range of SEND needs (including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, physical disabilities, and emotional needs) in their lessons, ensuring they have equal access to learning opportunities.
