Teaching Assistant, Cardiff

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant to supports pupils in a High School’s in Cardiff.

You will be supporting the secondary age range across various classes. The successful candidate will need to implement creative learning techniques to engage the pupils, who will need additional support with literacy and numeracy. You will also be supporting support pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

An important part of this role is to build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupils, who could potentially have low self-esteem and behaviour needs. The successful candidate will need to have a calm demeanour and be committed, as well as encouraging.

Previous experience of working with pupils with behaviour difficulties, on a one-to-one basis and a group basis will be beneficial for this job role.

You will need:

• A minimum of 3 months child-based experience
• Contactable references
• A Child and Adult DBS – or be willing to undertake one via New Directions
• A willingness to complete mandatory training when required
