New Directions Education is currently recruiting for Trainee Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join a small, friendly one-form entry primary school in Bootle. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity that offers valuable experience and training for individuals looking to begin a rewarding career supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). About the School:
A welcoming and inclusive primary school located in Bootle, serving a close-knit local community
Caters for children aged 4–11, with a high proportion of pupils with SEND, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs
Staffed by a dedicated team who prioritise early intervention, personalised learning, and building strong relationships with pupils and families
The Role:
Full-time trainee LSA role working across Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1), and potentially Key Stage 2 (KS2)
Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential skills
Work closely with the class teacher and experienced LSAs to deliver structured interventions, sensory play, and communication strategies
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
Has a genuine interest in working with children, particularly those with additional needs
Can provide references covering the past five years
Is willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service (or is already registered)
