A recently graded ‘Strong Standard’ school in Warrington is seeking to appoint a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil in a Year 2 class. This is a full-time position with the potential to become a longer-term opportunity for the right candidate.
The role will involve primarily academic support, helping the pupil to access the curriculum and stay engaged in lessons. While there may be occasional low-level behavioural challenges, the focus of the role is to provide consistent guidance, encouragement and structured learning support within the classroom environment.
The Role
• Provide dedicated 1:1 support within a Year 2 classroom
• Support the pupil’s academic progress in core subjects including reading, writing and maths
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement tailored support strategies
The Ideal Candidate
• Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS1
• Understanding of SEND and differentiated learning approaches
• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential
Requirements
• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
