New Directions Education is urgently recruiting passionate and resilient SEN / SEMH Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of additional needs across primary, secondary, and specialist provisions.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH)
Challenging behaviour
Autism (ASC)

Trauma or attachment needs

What you’ll be doing
Providing 1:1 and small‑group support
Helping pupils regulate emotions, manage behaviour and engage in learning
Working alongside teachers and support teams to create a safe, positive environment
Using de‑escalation and nurture‑based approaches
Encouraging independence, confidence and progress
We’re looking for
Experience in SEN/SEMH, youth work, care, alternative provision or similar
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
A calm, patient and supportive approach
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
Availability for an immediate start
