About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Positive Behaviour Practitioner to join a specialist educational setting in the Wirral. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, and who are committed to making a meaningful difference in their daily lives.

You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour strategies while also undertaking Teaching Assistant responsibilities within the classroom. Working closely with teaching staff and wider support teams, you will help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with a range of behavioural and emotional needs
  • Implement and model positive behaviour strategies and interventions
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support as required
  • Help manage challenging behaviour in a calm, consistent, and professional manner
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs (school or similar setting)
  • Strong understanding of positive behaviour support approaches
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging situations
  • A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a Teaching Assistant or similar role
  • Training in behaviour management, safeguarding, or SEND support
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
