New Directions are providing experienced Teaching Assistants to multiple schools in the Caerphilly borough. The role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils who require additional support to access their education.
About the Role
As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs
Build positive, trusting relationships with students to support their development and wellbeing
Assist in managing behaviour and promoting positive engagement strategies
Support students to access learning activities and stay focused
Work closely with teachers and ALNCOs
Help create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
About You
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with children or young people with ALN, behavioural needs, or additional support needs (desirable but not essential)
Be calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
Be able to set clear boundaries while remaining supportive and understanding
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children
Be adaptable and open to learning new strategies and approaches
Must be available to work between the hours of 8.30am and 3.30pm and available for a minimum of 3 days a week.
