Job Purpose
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a specialist provision in Perry Common.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and helping them overcome barriers to education.
Key Responsibilities – Teaching & Learning Support
Support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Deliver consistent 1:1 and small group support
Support emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
Encourage positive engagement with learning
Work alongside teaching staff to maintain structure and consistency
Promote pupil confidence, wellbeing, and independence
Person Requirements
Experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviour
Strong behaviour management skills
Calm, resilient, and patient attitude
Ability to build rapport with young people
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Two professional references
Qualifications

Relevant experience essential, including:
