Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Widnes from September. The school is looking for an enthusiastic individual who can create engaging learning experiences and support pupils during this important stage of their education.

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
• Support pupils’ development in phonics, reading, writing, and maths
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting lessons where required
• Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
• Support children’s transition and development within Key Stage 1

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1
• Demonstrates strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Has a good understanding of phonics and early learning development
• Is passionate about supporting children’s progress and wellbeing
• Brings a positive, enthusiastic, and team-focused approach to teaching
