New Directions is working with a number of schools across South Birmingham, from Northfield right the way across to Yardley and down to Kings Norton.
Our client schools range from small, 1-form-entry mainstream primary schools to large secondary schools as well as specialist SEND schools which can be primary only, secondary only or all-age.
The schools require dedicated teaching/learning support assistants who have the best interests of the children and young people at heart and are committed to holding the learners they support to the same high expectations of the schools.
 
New Directions is looking for individuals who hold themselves to high standards of conduct and presentation to represent the agency in providing the best care and support to the learners and teams of our client schools. Due to the additional needs of the children and young people teaching/learning Support Assistants support all staff must have previous experience supporting individuals with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities).
 Working hours are 8:30 to 3:30, working 3 to 5 days per week Monday to Friday during term-time. At New Directions, we pride ourselves on the fantastic service we provide not just to our client schools but also our agency staff, ensuring to take into consideration requirements such as travel time and locations.
 

Person Requirements
Experience of supporting individuals with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) – Essential
Experience of working in schools – Preferred but not essential
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or we can put one in place for you)
Two satisfactory references covering a minimum of two years
