New Directions Education is seeking enthusiastic and committed Primary Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to work on a supply basis across a range of welcoming primary schools in the Harrogate area.
This is an excellent opportunity for ECTs looking to gain valuable classroom experience, build confidence, and explore different school environments while maintaining flexibility in their working schedule.
About the Role
As a supply ECT, you will step into a variety of classroom settings, covering lessons across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. You will play a key role in ensuring continuity of learning while adapting to different school environments.
Your responsibilities will include:
-Delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task
-Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning
-Managing classroom behaviour in line with each school’s policies
-Adapting quickly to new classrooms, pupils, and teaching styles
-Supporting pupils with a range of abilities, including those with SEN or additional needs
-Marking work and providing feedback where required
-Building positive relationships with pupils and staff in a short period of time
-Gaining experience across different year groups and school settings
This role offers a great balance of teaching responsibility without the full workload of planning and long-term commitments, making it ideal for ECTs at the start of their careers.
