Job Purpose
We are currently recruiting for a resilient and committed SEND Teaching Assistant / Behaviour TA to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behaviours that challenge within a specialist setting in Perry Barr.

This rewarding Teaching Assistant role involves helping pupils overcome barriers to learning while promoting emotional wellbeing, resilience, and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities – Teaching & Learning Support

  • Provide 1:1 and classroom-based TA support
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Support behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
  • Encourage emotional regulation and resilience
  • Work alongside teachers, pastoral teams, and SEN professionals
  • Promote a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

Person Requirements

  • Experience supporting SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
  • Confident behaviour management skills
  • Patient, resilient, and proactive nature
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building rapport
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Two satisfactory references

Relevant experience required, including:
