New Directions Education are currently recruiting enthusiastic and motivated Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to work in primary schools across Chester and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for newly qualified teachers to gain valuable classroom experience, develop their teaching practice, and secure their first long-term or permanent role within primary education.
We work with a variety of welcoming and supportive schools that are committed to helping ECTs successfully transition into their teaching careers. Opportunities are available across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 on a short-term, long-term, and potential temp-to-perm basis.
Due to the nature of these opportunities, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.
• Delivering engaging and effective lessons across the primary age range
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Planning and adapting lessons to meet the needs of all learners
• Assessing pupil progress and providing feedback where required
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and school staff
• Contributing to the wider school community and school activities.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be due to achieve QTS before starting
• Recent teaching placement experience within a primary school setting
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A proactive, enthusiastic, and reflective approach to teaching
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and the primary curriculum
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
• A full driving licence and access to transport (desirable)
