Job Description

New Directions Education are currently recruiting KS1 Teachers for primary schools across Chester and the surrounding areas, with a range of day-to-day, short-term and long-term opportunities available.

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated teachers who can create engaging learning experiences and support students as they develop key skills throughout their early years of primary education.

Due to the nature of these opportunities, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.

The Role:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Differentiating lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning needs
  • Supporting students with their academic, social and emotional development
  • Managing behaviour effectively and maintaining high expectations
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider school staff
  • Developing positive relationships with students and families where appropriate
  • Following school policies and safeguarding procedures

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within KS1
  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum
  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
  • The ability to adapt teaching to meet individual needs
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching
  • A passion for supporting young learners
  • A flexible, reliable and professional approach
