An exciting opportunity has become available for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a caring and inclusive primary school in Huyton, providing vital support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the school’s SEND team to provide tailored support, ensuring pupils with additional needs can access learning in a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
The Role
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEND needs
• Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and differentiated learning activities
• Support pupils’ academic progress, communication skills, and emotional wellbeing
• Implement positive behaviour management strategies to encourage confidence and independence
• Collaborate with teachers, SENDCOs, parents, and external professionals to support individual learning plans
The Ideal Candidate
• Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Previous experience supporting children with SEND is desirable
• Is patient, caring, and committed to creating an inclusive learning environment
• Has excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
• Is adaptable, resilient, and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning
