New Directions Education is one of the preferred suppliers to schools across Monmouthshire, and due to continued demand, we are looking to expand our bank of Welsh-speaking Secondary Teachers to teach Welsh in English-medium schools.
We have long-term and short-term, full-time and part-time opportunities available. You will be based in secondary schools, supporting pupils aged 11–18 years.
To be considered for a role with New Directions, you must:
Have a genuine passion for teaching.
Be able to teach Welsh (all subject specialisms also considered).
Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
Be able to teach Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).
Hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate (or be willing to obtain one).
Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs/ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
Job Specification
Whether you are a newly qualified teacher or an experienced Welsh teacher, we offer rewarding opportunities delivering the Welsh curriculum across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 (KS5) where appropriate.
As a Welsh Teacher, you will be expected to:
Teach Welsh across the secondary curriculum or within your subject specialism.
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Plan, prepare and deliver lessons that meet the needs of learners of all abilities.
Inspire and motivate pupils through creative and enthusiastic teaching.
Maintain high standards of classroom management and behaviour.
Assess, monitor and record pupils’ progress in line with school policies.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the wider school community.
